I still remember my first taste of Eli’s “plain” cheesecake. A couple of years ago, I was visiting my sister in Springfield, Illinois, and she offered me a slice for dessert. It was so delicious that I sneaked into the kitchen several times to snarf down some more. By the time my sister remembered to put the cheesecake back into the fridge, only a few crumbs remained! She was puzzled about what happened to it, but I’ll never tell.
